We’re days away from the Easter long weekend. After a long winter, I can’t wait. And the kids are super excited about hunting Easter eggs this weekend in our annual neighbourhood Easter egg hunt.
Like many families, decorating Easter eggs is a family tradition in our home. I love finding crafts that I can do with my daughter and look forward to the day, when my toddler son is sufficiently dexterous, that I can share these creative moments with him as well. For now, he’d rather throw the eggs and eat the glitter!
A couple of years ago, I made decoupage Easter eggs with my daughter for Easter. They were so much fun to make! This year, with less time on my hands, I decided to try my hand at making fancy glitter eggs with double sided tape and micro glitter.
These eggs are so simple to make that children and novices can easily put these together in a matter of minutes. All you need are eggs (either boiled or craft eggs), double sided tape (try different shapes like dots, squares and/or strips that can be purchased at a local craft store) and glitter! I also found some beautiful glitter lace tape for the eggs and was delighted at how they turned out. The polka dot and striped eggs were decorated by simply attaching double sided tape to the eggs and dipping the taped portion into colourful micro glitter.I LOVE how they turned out and can’t wait to try more designs in other colours! The options for patterns are endless.
Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend.
