In Search of R&R in Hyannis, Cape Cod

7 years ago, we travelled to Hyannis, Cape Cod with our daughter and 4 other families for a week long summer trip. We enjoyed our trip so much that we recently returned for another family holiday. This time, we visited Cape Cod with our friends from the U.K., Claire and Matt, along with their lovely daughters, Maggie and Ida.

With four kids in tow, the holiday was really fun but far from relaxing. We left Toronto at 4:00 a.m., with the kids in the backseat in their jammies, and caravanned straight to the Cape. With two pit stops, it took us approximately 11 hours to get to the Cape. We rented a house just off of the Main St. in Hyannis.

Between packing and unpacking the car, feeding the kids, cleaning up, diaper changes, bath time, laundry, managing tantrums and exploring the Cape with the kids during the day, Claire and I definitely needed a few hours of girl time. A couple of weeks prior, I searched online for a local spa. I came across Salon 700 Day Spa and, of the several spas I found online, I was most impressed by Salon 700’s website and service offering. I booked myself a 90 minute combination massage and Claire booked a body wrap. Hyannis is very laid back, so we weren’t looking for an uber-luxurious spa but I wanted to find one that had a nice ambience and was close to the Main St. area.

We loved our services. The only regret is that we didn’t book earlier. The spa was very busy that week and could only fit us in for 1 service each. Claire raved about her body wrap treatment and emerged radiant and glowing. She liked that the treatment was comprised of multiple mini-treatments, including a full body scrub, body wrap and mini-facial. I also enjoyed my 90 minute massage and appreciated that the spa facilities were very clean, modern, well appointed and included the extra special touches such as a well padded massage table, higher quality massage table linens, pillows to properly support the body during the massage, a terry cloth covered face/head rest and candlelight accents in the massage room. The 90 minutes went by way too quickly but our short time at Salon 700 was exactly what we needed!

Here are a few pictures from the spa. The space at the spa is quite lovely and reasonably sized. They offer two small waiting areas so I imagine that it could be a great place for small bridal groups, showers or a group spa party. On our next visit to Hyannis, I definitely want to try the body wrap treatment that Claire enjoyed so much!

*Salon 700 Day Spa offered a discount on my spa service. However, as with all of my blog posts, I only blog about positive experiences and only write about experiences or services that I would recommend to my family and friends.
